Ultra, Trail and Road Running
As a junior in high school Kaci started running and continued throughout college by running road, track, and cross country. Post-college she moved on to the marathon, loving the longer distance. Her first goal was to Boston qualify. After qualifying Kaci set out to run a sub 3:00 hour marathon and, after numerous attempts, finally broke the 3 hour barrier. Setting her sights even higher, she attempted to achieve the 2012 Olympic Trials Standard of sub 2:46 and met this goal on her last attempt at the 2011 California International Marathon with a 2:44:14.
A month after the Olympic Trials Marathon, Kaci ran her first ultra trail race - Psycho WyCo 50K in Kansas City. This is where she fell in love with both the ultra distance and with trail running. From that day forward she has found her passion in ultras/trails and has now raced and finished 8 x 100 miles, 3 x 100K, 11 x 50 miles, 12+ x 50Ks, and more marathons than she can keep track of.
