Anna Mae Flynn

Trail and Ultra Running

Anna Mae is an elite trail runner for Hoka ONE ONE and enjoys racing 50k mountainous races such as Broken Arrow and Speedgoat. She dabbles in 50+ mile races as well, but is working on building her base to support longer endeavors. Whether it’s high volume training, speed work or racing Honey Stinger gels, chews and waffles are her main source of energy.

Anna Mae lives in Marble, Colorado, a quaint mountain town south of Carbondale with her two savage, training companion pups and partner Paul Hamilton. The town does not have cell service, the nearest gas station is 35 miles away, and her home is fully off grid. This is where she has found her utopia. Anna Mae can gaze out her front porch south towards the Ragged Wilderness and find miles of trails to adventure, ridge lines soaring over the valleys below navigating towards Crested Butte. Her favorite trail is out her front door heading north into the Maroon Bell Wilderness. The trail winds upwards following Carbonate Creek, and circumnavigates Mount Daly, a 12,000 foot peak. This beautiful 12 mile loop is characteristic of the type of running Anna Mae enjoys, tough 4,000ft gain to the saddle in 6 miles and then a technical, rolling single track descent for 3 miles called Hidden Creek trail which intersects at Lead King Loop service road. From there you can bomb the next 3 miles back home. When asked she states, “I’m in love with my backyard to say the least.”
